We are in a hilltribe village and the living conditions in the village are basic . We provide drinking water, electricity and clean food, if you believe that you can not do without modern comforts, please consider whether a tribal village is the right place for you.

Please carefully consider that before finally signing up for the course. We can’t refund any course fees after you have finally signed up.

What to expect with your trip to Thailand:

Not all trips will be in an Akha village but, we will stay in a village at least one or two nights on a trip.

  • Simple food (3 vegetarian rice based meals a day while taking the Thai massage course. While touring only breakfast is provided.)
  • Bamboo or wooden hut style accommodation in the village. Simple guest house accommodations when not in a village.
  • Course material
Six hours massage practice for ten days.
    Filtered drinking water
    Electricity

We recommend a sleeping bag, a flashlight and some warm clothing for the evenings/nights.

We provide simple meals (three vegetarian rice based meals a day). If you do have any specific food requirements, you should bring those items with you. We do serve meals that contain egg, which you can easily avoid.

National Humanitarian Award for Winnie Cain

The Akha Women’s Foundation is a non-profit 501(c3) designated charitable organization founded to empower the Akha women of Thailand by providing them with vocational and primary health care programs. The Foundation provided funds to build a hostel where 25 Akha girls live while attending high school. We are now working to raise money to build a clinic where the Akha women can learn skills to support their families, and where the traditions of Thai/Akha massage and herbal medicine will be taught.
